Green Your Garden With Artificial Grass
You may have spent years dreaming of getting a home with a garden, but what do you do if your much longed for area of green isn't very green after all? Drought and severe weather conditions can have a drastic effect on the state of your lawn, making it hard to keep the grass green and the space tempting. On the other hand, the weather may be right but the spare time may not be, if you don't have the free time needed to tend your garden, you could soon find that your grass becomes straggly and inundated with weeds - hardly a tempting sight.
If you're struggling to get a lawn that looks the way you want it to, you could find that artificial grass is the perfect solution. Needing very little maintenance and happy whatever the weather, artificial grass is an ideal way to achieve a glossy green lawn without all the effort. It'll make you popular during water bans, when your grass will stay green despite the hosepipe staying in the garage and you'll love the extra few hours you spend sunbathing rather than cutting, weeding or watering the lawn.
By the same token, artificial grass is a great choice if you have an outdoor swimming pool as it won't suffer from wet feet and splashes and can be a good solution if you're garden is built on particularly muddy and unmanageable soil. If you have a roof garden which would never support the weight of grass, you can simulate the feeling of being close to nature with the help of artificial grass.
There are a number of different types of artificial grass, with different lengths, thicknesses and softness levels - meaning you're sure to be able to find the grass that suits your home and style. If you've got children, you'll want to choose soft artificial grass that's perfect for play areas. There are also grass styles that are well suited to other outdoor uses. For example, shorter blades are ideal when you're looking to turf areas you're likely to be sitting and drinking of eating - such as a patio.
Artificial grass looks extremely realistic these days, but if you're looking for something a little unusual you could choose grass in fun and funky colours that will add a burst of fun to your garden. If you're thinking about putting down artificial grass but are having trouble imagining what it will be like, you can easily request samples from good suppliers.

Making my yard soft to plant grass?
If my yard is to hard how can I make it soft to start growing my grass
Is your soil clay or just regular topsoil? Does it have enough micronutrients to support germination? Mixing in some rich topsoil is to your benefit if your soil is lacking. You can use gypsum if you have clay. Other than that when seeding bare ground, use a slicer if the area is not in need of leveling or pitching for drainage. If ii is in need of leveling or pitching use a tiller and a hard rake. If you have an existing lawn then aerating and overseeding is recommended. You may use peat or straw for bare ground are good but peat is the new thing. Be careful, it is easy to get carried away and put too much down which will reduce the percentage of germination. Most seed starts to germinate (with correct weather conditions) within 2 weeks. Using a starter fertilizer with an analysis (on front of bag ) of 13-13-13 or 12-12-12. Put it down at the recommended rate. Use Tupersan for crabgrass preemergent (This is preemergent used for new seed only) if you have a company applying regular applications do not let them put chemicals on newly seeded areas. Regular preemergent forms a barrier along the top of the ground preventing any seed for germinating. Also the chemicals are probably high in nitrogen and potash and will burn seed or new grass. Usually the preemergents are only put down from Feb - May. Ground must remain moist.
